Intent
At St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Academy, we want our pupils to develop knowledge, skills and attributes which keep themselves healthy and safe, preparing them for life and work in the future. We aspire for all our pupils to play a positive role in in contributing to the school and wider community, embodying both Gospel and British values.
We live in an evolving society, where our children face an increasing amount of safeguarding issues. It is, therefore, important that we teach our pupils high quality PSHE and RSE which give them the skills they need to stay safe and healthy.
We intend to do this by teaching the following three key themes in and across all year groups; Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.
RSE lessons, from EYFS to Year 6, will be taught using TenTen’s ‘Life to the Full’ programme with other high quality, appropriate resources used as applicable.
