Friends of the School

Welcome to the Friends of St Mary Magdalen’s Screen Shot 2016-01-29 at 20.52.16

As the current head teacher I am absolutely delighted to see the formation and operation of our ‘Friends’ group. This has probably been a couple of years in formulation arising out of the splendid work done by a previous group known as the ‘St. Mary Magdalen’s Money Makers’. As with a lot of these groups they come to an end when the driving forces behind them move on, as is only natural, in our type of community, but are owed a great debt of gratitude for the hard work, fun and fund raising they did in their time. As is evident in the way that our school is expanding we have a new and vibrant community that is really keen, as is the school, to form those bonds which bring the community together in a very special spirit of togetherness as parents, teachers, children and wider parish community.

The ‘Friends of St. Mary Magdalen’s’ have brought the community together through many special ways and events which reflect the role they play. They have organised Autumn parties and discos for parents, staff and children and not forgetting the highly successful Christmas Fayre held each year for the whole community to enjoy. Money raised by the ‘Friends’ group have helped to buy vital school resources such as class i-pads, parent shelter and  new football strips for our A and B football teams!

There are images from the ‘Friends of the School’ in the ‘School Blog’ section!

School Sports Day 2017 – A  big thank you to our very own ‘Friends of the School’ parent group who always work hard to raise funds for our school. They raised a fantastic £417.92  which will be used to provide further enrichment and school resources for all of our children in school.
