Pupil Responsibilities

In school the children are given a number of responsibilities.  These include:

Head Boy and Head Girl

Our Year 6 Head Boy and Head Girl were elected by all the children to be our very own school ambassadors.  They work hard to support the Headteacher and often represent our school during special events. Our Head Boy this year is Alex and our Head Girl is Grace. To find out more about them, please read their election speeches below.

Our Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl will support these important roles throughout the school year. Our Deputy Head Boy is Louis and our Deputy Head Girl is Molly.

Please take some time to read our Head Girl speech and Head Boy speech.

House Captains and Prefects

We have a number of elected Year 6 House Captains and Deputy House Captains who keep a record of the house points each week. Our House groups are named after local Saints and are called St Aidan, St Cuthbert,  St Bede and St Cecelia. Our captains present the house point totals each week during whole school assembly. Our Year 6 Prefects help around school, looking after the younger children and supporting others where they can.

Playground Pals

We have Year 6 ‘Play Ground Pals’ that support on the school yard during playtimes and lunchtimes. These pals will help to look after the younger children and anyone who just needs an extra friend during playtime and lunchtime.

Fair Trade Tuck Shop

Our Year 6 Fair Trade volunteers run a school tuck shop each week selling Fair Trade products. Knowing that a proportion of the money spent will help to support working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers is worth all the effort.
