Promoting Personal, Social and Health Education and Citizenship
PSHE education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepared for life and work. Well-delivered PSHE teaching has an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Although current PSHE education is non-statutory, the Health Education and Relationships Education (primary) / Relationships and Sex Education (secondary) aspects is now statutory in all schools. Schools are free to determine how to deliver such content, in the context of a broad and balanced curriculum, and will ensure teaching is sensitive and age appropriate in approach and content. At St Mary Magdalen’s, we use the Ten Ten Resources to deliver RSE.
